Permitful is a permit tracking tool for architects and permit expediters who manage building permits across multiple projects and jurisdictions. It helps you organize permits, track milestones, and share project status with clients through public dashboards—replacing spreadsheets and email threads with a centralized system.

Permit Advisor uses AI and real-time web search to suggest the permits your project is likely to need, based on its type and location. When you create a project, it searches official city, county and state sites, then lists each permit as required, likely or possibly needed, citing the pages it found them on, so you can check them before you add anything. Free accounts get one run to try it, and Pro runs it on every project.

Yes! That's one of Permitful's key features. You can track permits from any city or jurisdiction in one centralized dashboard. Whether you have projects in San Diego, Los Angeles, Austin, or any other city, you can manage them all from your Permitful account.

The free plan includes one active project, and archived projects don't count toward it. Pro includes unlimited projects, so whether you have 5 projects or 500, Permitful scales with your practice. Each project can have multiple permits, and each permit can have multiple milestones.

No integration required. Permitful works alongside any city's permit system. You manually enter permit information and milestones, and Permitful helps you organize and track everything in one place. This works with any city's portal, whether it's Accela, ProjectDox, Austin Build + Connect, or any other system.

Each Permitful account belongs to one person, so each person who tracks projects signs up for their own account. To keep colleagues, consultants and clients up to date on a project, share its live public dashboard, which is included with Pro.

With Pro, you subscribe once to a live calendar feed from Settings → Calendar, and every milestone on your active projects appears in Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar: permit submission dates, plan check comment deadlines, resubmittal dates, approval dates, and inspection schedules, plus each permit's expiry date with a reminder 30 days before. When a date changes in Permitful, your calendar picks it up the next time it checks the feed, usually within a few hours; Google Calendar can take up to a day. On any plan, you can also add a single milestone to Google Calendar or Outlook with one click.

Yes. Projects are private by default, and only you can see them when you're signed in. A project's details become viewable without signing in only if you turn on its public dashboard, and then only to people who have its private link. Public dashboards are also hidden from search engines. You can switch a dashboard back to private at any time. If you set up the Pro calendar feed, your milestones and their project and permit names can also be read by anyone who has the feed's private link, so keep it to yourself; you can reset it at any time in Settings → Calendar.

Each project in Permitful gets a unique, shareable dashboard URL that shows all permits, their status, milestones, fees, and progress. You can toggle project visibility on or off at any time. When public, clients and consultants can view the dashboard without logging in—no emails or phone calls needed. When private, only you can see it. Public dashboards are included with Pro.

You have full control over what clients see. You can make projects public or private at any time, and mark any milestone private to keep it off the dashboard, so internal reminders stay internal. Milestone notes and permit descriptions are never shown to clients. You can also include a link to your current drawing set if you choose.

No. Each project has its own dashboard with its own private link, and a client only sees the projects whose links you send them. Dashboards are hidden from search engines, and you can switch any of them back to private at any time.

Simply toggle your project's visibility to "public" and copy the unique dashboard URL. Share this link with your clients via email, text, or include it in your project communications. They can bookmark it and check permit status anytime—no login required. You can make it private again at any time.

No. The free plan is the way to try Permitful: one active project with one Permit Advisor run, for as long as you like. Pro is billed from the day you upgrade, and you can cancel anytime.

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.

We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
