Change several milestones at once, and see what clients see

Select milestones to show, hide, complete or delete them together. A new Dashboard column shows which ones your client can see, and standard milestones now start private.

A permit can carry a dozen milestones, and a project with several permits many more. You can now work on them together, and see at a glance which ones your client sees.

Bulk actions on a permit's milestones

Tick the boxes beside the milestones you want, or the box in the header to select them all. Then:

  • Show on dashboard or Make private
  • Mark Completed or Mark Incomplete
  • Delete them together

The circles that mark a single milestone complete now sit under a Done heading, so they're easy to tell apart from the selection boxes.

A Dashboard column instead of the lock

The milestones table has a new Dashboard column. An eye means your client sees that milestone on the project's public dashboard; a crossed-out eye means it's private. Click the icon to show or hide one milestone. It replaces the lock icon that used to sit beside private milestones.

If the project's dashboard is off, or paused because Pro has ended, the column heading says Dashboard (off). Clients can't open the dashboard until you turn it on, and milestones you show appear once you do.

Standard milestones start private

Standard milestones, whether you add them from a permit page or they come with permits you add from Permit Advisor, now start private. Their dates are typical estimates, not ones you've set, so they stay off the client dashboard until you choose to show them.

To show them across a whole project in one step, open Public Dashboard on the project page and choose Show … private milestones. When you turn a project's dashboard on, Permitful also asks whether to show its private milestones. Either way, this shows every private milestone in the project, including any you made private yourself, such as internal reviews, so check for those first. You can make any milestone private again from its permit's page.

Milestones you add yourself still appear on the dashboard unless you mark them private, and milestone notes are never shown to clients.
