Most agencies void a permit if work doesn't start, or stops, for a set period, and many close an application that sits in plan check too long. The date is printed on the permit, but it's easy to lose track of, and a lapsed permit means reapplying and paying the fees again. Permitful now tracks it for you.
To add one, open a permit, click Edit Permit and pick a date under Expires on. It's optional, and you can clear it any time.
- A warning wherever the permit appears. From 30 days out, the permit shows how long is left, such as Expires in 21 days, in your project's permits table, on the Permits page and at the top of the permit page. The badge turns red in the last week and reads Expired once the date passes.
- Expiring permits on your home dashboard. Permits that expire within 30 days, or already have, are listed on your home dashboard, soonest first. When an agency grants an extension, update the date; if a permit did lapse, set its status to Expired and it drops off the list.
- In your calendar, with Pro. The live calendar feed adds two events for each permit with an expiry date: a reminder 30 days before and the expiry day itself.
Expiry dates are for you. They don't appear on your clients' public dashboards.
