Sharing a Public Dashboard
Give clients and consultants a live, read-only view of a project's permits.
What a Public Dashboard Is
Every project has a public dashboard: a read-only page showing the project's permits, their status and what's due next. Anyone with the link can open it, with no account or login, so clients and consultants can check progress without asking you. Public dashboards are included with Pro.
See an example project dashboard.
Turn It On
- Open the project and click Edit Project, or use Enable Public Dashboard when you create the project.
- Turn on Enable Public Dashboard and save.
- Copy the link from the project page and send it to your client.
The link stays the same, so you only need to send it once. Turn the dashboard off at any time and the link stops working until you turn it back on.
Add Your Branding
The dashboard shows your company name and logo. Set them in Settings → Profile.
What Clients See
- The project's name, type, location, floor area, stories and description
- Each permit's type, agency, status, permit number and fee amount
- Each permit's next milestone and its due date
- A download link for your current drawing set, if you've added one on the project page
What Clients Never See
- Private milestones. Mark a milestone private when you add or edit it to keep internal reminders, like an internal review, off the dashboard. Private milestones still appear in your own calendar feed.
- Milestone notes. Notes are always private.
- Permit descriptions and expiry dates.
- Your email address.
The project description, fee amounts and permit numbers are shown, so keep anything internal out of them.
When a Dashboard Stops Working
- Archiving a project makes it private, so its dashboard link stops working. Turn the dashboard back on after unarchiving it.
- If your Pro subscription ends, your dashboards stop working and their links go to the Permitful homepage. They work again, with the same links, when you upgrade.
